Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 18, 2026
TutorKit Ledger helps private tutors track lessons, payments, balances, statements, receipts, reminders, and subscription access. This Privacy Policy explains the common types of information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We collect account information you provide, such as your name, email address, password, business name, preferred language, timezone, currency, and subscription status.
When you use TutorKit Ledger, you may add student and family information, payer contact details, lesson types, ledger entries, payment records, statements, notes, and communication preferences. You are responsible for having the appropriate permission to enter information about students, payers, or families into the service.
We also collect basic technical information, such as device and browser details, IP address, log data, security events, first-party analytics events, landing page attribution, and UTM parameters, to operate, protect, and improve the application.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and maintain the service, authenticate users, organize student and family records, generate statements and receipts, send portal links and account emails, track subscription access, respond to support requests, understand which public pages lead to signups, improve product reliability, and protect against misuse or unauthorized access.
3. Payments and Service Providers
We use third-party providers to operate parts of the service, such as hosting, email delivery, error monitoring, analytics, and TutorKit Ledger subscription billing. Stripe is used to process TutorKit Ledger subscription billing for tutors. TutorKit Ledger does not process payments from families or students unless a separate feature explicitly says so, and it does not store full credit card numbers.
These providers may process information only as needed to deliver their services to us and are expected to protect it according to their own security and privacy obligations.
4. Sharing Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your TutorKit Ledger data with third parties for their own marketing, advertising, analytics resale, or independent commercial purposes.
We do not share student, family, lesson, or payment-ledger records with third parties except as necessary to operate TutorKit Ledger, comply with law, protect the service, or carry out actions you request. Examples of user-requested actions include sending a family portal link, sending a reminder, or generating a statement or receipt for a recipient you choose.
5. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain business records. You can request deletion of your account or certain personal information, subject to legal and operational retention requirements.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong password and protect access to your account.
7. Student and Family Communications
TutorKit Ledger may send account confirmations, welcome emails, portal access links, payment reminders, statements, receipts, and related service messages. Language and timezone preferences may be used to localize outbound communications and portal access.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may update many account and record details inside the application. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete personal information. Contact us if you need help with a privacy request.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page or sending an account notice.
